History

The Club started circa 1980 as Combat Martial Arts run by Tom Mullins.

The club held the national groundwork competition 1st place for 10 yrs consecutively with a Kookan fighter in the top 2 places in every catagory bot at Junior and Senior Levels.

During the same time period it also held the National titles Sport JuJitsu(Individual and team) for many years.

Kodokan has produced the National coaches for Sport Ju Jitsu for the last 20 years (Mick Howe being one of the latest)

It has also trained many International Medalists.(Paul Grant,Mick Howe) and national champions (Dave taylor , Mick Howe , Gary Smith)

Kodokan Cadets and Juniors Fighters have achieved great success. Three have fought internationally with many being National Champions in thier own right.

The Club is run as a charity with any profit going back into the club.

Martial Artists from around the country come to train with Kodokan, many being of National and International standard.
